Types of nuts

Jan 08, 2026

Nuts are parts that tightly connect mechanical equipment. They are connected by internal threads, and only nuts and bolts of the same specification can be joined together. For example, an M4-P0.7 nut can only be connected to an M4-P0.7 series bolt (in nuts, M4 indicates the inner diameter is approximately 4mm, and 0.7 indicates the distance between the two thread teeth is 0.7mm). The same applies to American standard products; for example, a 1/4-20 nut can only be used with a 1/4-20 bolt (1/4 indicates the inner diameter is approximately 0.25 inches, and 20 indicates there are 20 threads per inch).
