Product Introduction
GB/T6170-2015 is the current national standard, which is modified and adopted from ISO4032. It specifies the shape, dimensional tolerances, and marking of metric type 1 standard height hexagonal nuts with sizes ranging from M1.6 to M64. The product is divided into two grades, A and B; grade A applies to sizes ≤M16 with higher precision, and grade B applies to sizes larger than M16.
Mechanical properties
Mechanical properties follow GB/T3098.2, and common carbon steel grades include 6, 8, and 10. Grade 8 nuts have a guaranteed stress of 800MPa and are matched with grade 8.8 bolts; grade 10 nuts require quenching and tempering heat treatment, have a guaranteed stress of 1000MPa, and are suitable for grade 10.9 bolts.
Materials commonly selected include 45# steel, 10B21, and 40Cr. Surface treatments such as blackening, hot-dip galvanizing, and durmetting can be applied. Blackening only provides short-term rust prevention and is suitable for dry indoor conditions.
Industry Application Scenarios
This nut has strong versatility, with dimensions basically equivalent to ISO4032, and can be exported to regions such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Africa. It is widely used in projects including construction machinery, factory steel structures, mining equipment, general machine tools, pumps and valves, and agricultural machinery, mainly for equipment frames, bases, and flange connections.
ISO4032 of the same specification can be directly interchangeable, and DIN934 has consistent mechanical properties, but there may be differences in the hexagonal span dimension for some specifications, which need to be checked when the drawings are strict. Blackened products are not recommended for outdoor and salt spray environments; instead, corrosion-resistant plating versions should be used to avoid early rust failure.
