DIN 439 Hexagonal Thin Nuts Product Documentation
I.Product Introduction DIN 439 hexagonal thin nuts are lightweight fasteners complying with German industrial standards. Adopting a hexagonal outer shape combined with a thin-structure design, they feature a lower axial height than standard hexagonal nuts, making them ideal for fastening applications with limited installation space.
• Core Structure: The across-flats dimension is consistent with that of standard nuts of the same specification, while the thickness is only 60%–70% of standard nuts. It is designed with full threads to enable quick screwing and stable locking.
• Key Specifications: Nominal diameter ranges from M1.6 to M48. Precision classes are divided into Class A (suitable for precision assembly) and Class B (suitable for general-purpose scenarios), with a thread tolerance of 6H.
• Common Materials: Carbon steel (surface treatment is required for carbon steel nuts), stainless steel (304/316), copper alloy, etc., meeting the strength and corrosion resistance requirements of different working conditions.
• Surface Treatments: Electro-galvanizing, hot-dip galvanizing, passivation, black oxide coating, Dacromet coating, etc., improving rust resistance and assembly compatibility.
• Core Advantages: Compact size, space-saving installation, lightweight design, suitability for thin-walled components, and high assembly efficiency.
Executive Standards & Application Specifications
(I)Executive Standards
1. Basic Production Standards: DIN 439-1:2016 (Hexagonal thin nuts, Classes A and B), DIN 439-2:2016 (Hexagonal thin lock nuts)
2. Thread Standard: Compliant with metric coarse/fine threads specified in DIN 13-1
3. Mechanical Performance Standards: Carbon steel grades refer to DIN ISO 898-2; stainless steel grades refer to DIN ISO 3506-1
4. Surface Treatment Standards: Electro-galvanizing refers to DIN EN ISO 4042; Dacromet coating refers to DIN EN ISO 10683
(II) Application Specifications
1. Assembly Requirements: Must be used with bolts of the same specification. Ensure the threads are clean and free of impurities during screwing to avoid thread stripping caused by forced installation.
2. Torque Control: The tightening torque should be 20%–30% lower than that of standard nuts of the same specification to prevent overload fracture due to insufficient nut thickness.
3. Anti-loosening Measures: Due to structural limitations, DIN 439 nuts do not have built-in anti-loosening function. For vibration-prone working conditions, they must be used with spring washers, thread-locking adhesives or lock washers.
4. Load-bearing Limitations: Not suitable for high-load and high-impact fastening scenarios; avoid long-term exposure to alternating loads.

Industry Application Scenarios
With stable connection performance and high versatility, ISO 4032 hexagonal nuts are widely used in multiple industrial fields, including:General machinery manufacturing, construction and infrastructure, automotive and transportation, electrical and electronic equipment, as well as household appliances and daily hardware.
Applicable Industries Electronics & Precision Equipment, Automobile Manufacturing, Aerospace, Furniture & Doors and Windows, Electrical Equipment
Notes for Use
Prohibition of Substitution:
It is strictly forbidden to replace DIN 934 standard nuts with DIN 439 nuts in heavy-load scenarios such as main load-bearing structures, bridges and construction machinery to prevent safety accidents caused by insufficient strength.DIN 439 is fully equivalent to GB/T 6172.1 and can be directly used interchangeably.
01
Thread Matching Check:
Before assembly, confirm that the thread specifications and tolerance classes of bolts and nuts are consistent to prevent locking failure caused by thread mismatch.
02
Surface Treatment Compatibility:
For carbon steel nuts used in humid and corrosive environments, hot-dip galvanizing or Dacromet coating should be selected to avoid rusting which may affect disassembly and fastening performance.
03
Selection of Installation Tools:
Standard hexagonal socket wrenches must be used. Avoid adjustable wrenches and other tools that may cause wear to the nut edges and corners, affecting subsequent disassembly.
04
Storage Requirements:
Store in a dry and well-ventilated environment to prevent oxidation of the nut surface coating or rusting of the threads.
05
