DIN6926 is a hexagonal flange lock nut equipped with a non-metallic insert (typically nylon). It relies on the flange surface for load-bearing and anti-rotation, while the nylon ring generates preload torque to prevent loosening, eliminating the need for additional washers. It is widely used in vibration-prone working conditions.
Production Standards
• Main Standard: DIN 6926 (current version: DIN EN ISO 1993). Nominal diameter range: M5–M20; product grade: A; flanges available with serration or without serration versions.
• Supporting Standards: DIN EN ISO 898-2 (for steel), DIN EN ISO 3506-2 (for stainless steel), DIN 267-1/15. These cover general requirements, mechanical properties, and thread tolerance (6H).
• Equivalent/Alternative Standards: ISO 7043, GB/T 6183.1/6183.2, ASTM A563 (for partial specifications). Consistent in dimensions and anti-loosening principle, enabling seamless interchangeability.

Production Process
Material Selection:
Carbon steel (e.g., SWRCH35K), stainless steel (304/316), and nylon 66 inserts, selected based on performance grades.
Forming:
Cold heading (for M5–M16) to produce hexagonal flange blanks, ensuring metal flow lines and mechanical strength; hot forging is applicable for large-sized products.
Insert Assembly:
Nylon rings are installed via injection molding or press-fitting, ensuring the inner diameter of the ring is smaller than the thread pitch diameter to generate preload torque.
Tapping:
Processing of 6H threads, ensuring compliance with thread go-no-go gauge requirements.
Surface Treatment:
Zinc plating with colored passivation, dacromet coating, black oxide coating, etc., to enhance corrosion resistance.
Inspection:
Full-dimensional inspection, thread go-no-go gauge testing, proof load testing, hardness testing, and surface salt spray testing (≥48 hours).
